La Bretagne region has for a long time housed the "beating heart of the Ministry of Defense" [1], through the DGA (Directorate General of Armaments), the school of transmissions, La Bretagne Center for the analysis of defensive computer control ... and of course the big industrial groups (Thales, Orange ...). In 2014, at the joint initiative of then Minister of Defense Jean-Yves Le Drian and the region, a partnership between the state and the region for the development of a pole of excellence. Its mission is to support the growth of the sector at national level around 3 main axes: formation, research and economic development by facilitating the access of Breton SMEs to cybersecurity markets in France and internationally.
Today, the region has nearly 130 companies in the digital sector, 50% of which are "pure players" only involved in cybersecurity and 7 clusters (networks of companies). During this day, 2 presentation sessions have revealed a dozen startups including InThreat, Hogo, Watoo, three young shoots who, after the presentations, decided to apply for the Innovation Award.
